Fort Wonder is seeking qualified applicants to join our 2025 team! If you are a hard-working, independent and collaborative group member who is passionate about working with children in an energetic summer camp environment, we want to hear from you!

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Social Media Administrator

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create visual images for family emails and social media posts.

  • Facilitate communication with camp families through daily written emails and social media posts.

  • Coordinate and gather various visual content for Fort Wonder social media accounts.

  • Provide support to Day Camps and Specialty Camps staff as directed.

  • Assist with execution of daily drop-off and pick-up procedures.

  • Commitment to summer schedule as follows:

  • May 27 - 30, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Camp Training, with a 30-minute lunch break daily 

  • June 2 - July 18, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Signature Camps, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break daily (No camps on June 19 or the week of June 30 - July 4)

  • July 21-August 1, 8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. / noon - 4 p.m.: Specialty Camps, Monday through Friday, Varying Half Day shifts assigned to highlight morning and afternoon half-day camps on social media.    

  • Pay Range: $15+ per hour

 
Minimum qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

  • Demonstrated experience working with children

  • Candidates 18 and over must pass a criminal background check 

  • Positive verification of references ​


Physical demands: 

  • Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing

  • Subject to outside environmental conditions in the Texas summer

Camp Counselors

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the daily management of a single group of campers in a specific age group.

  • Provide campers with physical safety and emotional support to create a positive camp experience.

  • Lead campers through their daily activities.

  • Communicate directly with parents of campers in their group as needed.

  • Commitment to summer schedule as follows:

  • May 27 - 30, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Camp Training, with a 30-minute lunch break daily 

  • June 2 - July 18, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Signature Camps, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break daily (No camps on June 19 or the week of June 30 - July 4)

  • Pay Range: $15+ per hour

Camp Administrators

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Fort Wonder Site Director in delivering exceptional summer camp experiences for campers, families, and camp staff

  • Provide support to Day Camps and Specialty Camps staff

  • Assist with execution of daily drop-off and pick-up procedures

  • Facilitate communication with camp families

  • Assist with the oversight of camper lunch periods

  • Lead camp operations, including preparation and distribution of camp supplies

  • Commitment to summer schedule as follows: 

  • May 27 - 30, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Camp Training, with a 30-minute lunch break daily 

  • June 2 - July 18, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Signature Camps, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break daily (No camps on June 19 or the week of June 30 - July 4)

  • July 21 - August 1, 8:45 a.m. -12:15 p.m. OR noon - 4 p.m.: Half Day Shifts for Specialty Camp Support 

  • Pay Range: $15+ per hour
